Junior Prep – Teacher’s Assistant

Overview

A position has become available in our Junior Preparatory Faculty for a Teacher’s Assistant in a full-time position commencing on 8 July. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The Successful candidate must have the following characteristics:

  • Relevant teaching qualification or currently registered for a teaching qualification
  • Be able to use technology and Microsoft programmes
  • Be able to adapt and use own initiative
  • Have at least 1-2 years’ experience of working with children

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Is energetic, self-motivated and able to use one’s own initiative.
  • Is hardworking.
    Is adaptable to change and is a good team player.
  • Is a dynamic and caring teacher who loves children. Has excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, students and parents.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting students in their educational journey.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Classroom Support: Provide assistance to the teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Individualised Support: Work with students on a one-on-one or small group basis to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Aftercare and Holiday Care: Supervise students during aftercare and holiday care programs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Homework Assistance: Support students with their homework assignments, providing guidance and clarification as needed.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support: Collaborate with the teaching team to provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Admin Support: Assist in the administration of the class needs.
