Creditor’s Clerk/Controller

  • Certificate / Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience or internship in a similar role will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic, work under pressure and must be able to multitask.


Creditors Control Management:

  • Monitor and manage the school’s creditors effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all payable accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.

Preparation of Payments:

  • Compile and review proper and correct documentation for all payments.
  • Prepare payment batches in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy of payment amounts and relevant details.

Monthly Reconciliations:

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of financial statements.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Provide detailed reports on reconciliation outcomes.

Proper Filing:

  • Establish and maintain an efficient and organized filing system.
  • File financial documents accurately and securely.
  • Retrieve documents promptly upon request.

Vendor Compliance:

  • Regularly check and ensure vendors’ compliance with established agreements.
  • Maintain updated records of vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve any payment or compliance-related issues.

Liaison with Vendors:

  • Foster positive relationships with vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to address queries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Attention to Detail:

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in all financial tasks.
  • Identify and rectify errors promptly to maintain accuracy.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Assist team members when needed and contribute to a positive team dynamic.

Adhoc Duties:

  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Manager.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle adhoc duties effectively.
